Aluminum Profile "P8" 8ft (94")

Aluminum Profile "P8" creates an evenly diffused 3 Inch wide line of high-output linear lighting. It can either be suspended from the ceiling (using the provided suspension hardware) or surface mounted for an impressive architectural lighting solution. It has an interior width of 2.81 Inch (71.4mm) wide which can be used to install 2 rows of high-output LED strip lights. This large aluminum extrusion has the capacity to dissipate the heat generated by your high-output LED strip lighting thereby extending their lifetime. Aluminum Profile “P8” is conveniently sold in 8ft lengths as a completed kit including a pair of end-caps, suspension kit, and one premium frosted diffuser (lens). Applications

Aluminum profile "P8" can be surface mounted, as well as suspended from the ceiling. It's ability to hold high-output LED tape make it a perfect solution for office spaces, retail stores, hotels and more. It is also highly adaptable with any modern home design, and can be used as the primary source of lighting in any space when properly configured.

Installation

With aluminum profile "P8", one has the option of using a suspension kit, or screwing directly into the desired surface.

Mounting Method #1 (Use of Suspension Kit)

Install in minutes with our included suspension kit. Simply screw the anchor into your desired surface, install the included aircraft cable and cut to your desired length. Before Installing the closed end-cap onto light fixture, slide cable-grip retaining screws into the rear channel of the aluminum housing. Insert End-Cap, and tighten cable-gripper onto light fixture. Aircraft cable can now be pulled into the cable-grip and adjusted to desired suspension height.

Mounting Method #2 (Screw into Surface)
Drill hole specific to your mounting screw diameter into aluminum housing. Counter-sink the hole so a flat-head screw can sit flush with the housing. Install LED Strip over screw.

Cutting

To cut your aluminum profiles and make your lighting fixtures a custom length, simply snap the lens onto the profile, and place the channel onto a miter saw with the lens facing down. By doing this you can easily cut both the channel and lens to your desired length at the same time. We recommend using a NEW fine tooth blade to cut your aluminum channels for LED strips. The diffuser/lens is fragile and will easily break with an old blade. The easiest way to avoid breaking a lens or diffuser is to lower the saw blade slowly while cutting.
